If its a 4 pin molex connector then its so you can connector to the Powersupply daisychain with other 4 pin molex connectors to supply the V5 the proper amount of watts in order for it to perform best. 4.8watts for each chip if me memory serves me right.
woops, sorry should have been more specific. On the PCB there is a row of pins that look like they take a connector. In fact they look remarkably similar to SLI. I was just wondering what it was actually for.
one of them is for the power supply and DO NOT run the card without it hooked up.
the other is for dvd
also note the V5 is not a bad dvd card like somepeople make it out to be.

Happygamer thanks for the links. I got the whole power connector bit 😀 that was fairly obvious. How is that cable used for DVD? I've yet to muck around with DVD on PCs, mainly because of that wildly expensive standalone dvd player with more outputs than I have fingers.
the connector is for a hardware dvd decoder. but you can use software dvd decoders if you have a dvd cd player. I use hardware dvd and software decoders. The best software dvd decoder I have used is ati radeons. I had a radeon card and the software decoder works good on the V5.
