What is the command to create a text file of all of the files in a folder?

It's been a while since I have done this - CMD.EXE within Windows NT 5.1.

dir >filename.txt

adjust options as necessary

I thought a remember a command like that too, but anyway it seems if you do

dir /b /a:-d > files.txt

it more or less does the same thing.
