Every once in a while, somebody inspires me to post a pic of my "Gurr-eat Project" of 2007 using a 1995 Compaq ProLiant server case:
I could explain each feature of it in detail with more pics. I see I left my wire snips on the floor when I took this one. It looks as though the cat dropped a deuce on the carpet. But the result of the 3" braked double-caster wheels and their mounting hardware was especially satisfying. I was able to turn the server-drive-bay hot-swap bays and caddies to good use. It would have made a great water-cooling project. I just gave the whole enchilada to my brother, when I might have got him a new case for the computer essentials. And I guess my biggest problem with it was the size in the confines of this room. That case was at least 4" taller than a standard full-tower, and the wheels raise it up another 4". The system to the left in the picture is a "re-deployed" Gateway full-tower from the mid-1990s.
