What is the better value?

Newegg is offering either the AMD Phenom II X3 720 Black edition (Am3), or the X4 920 (Am2+) for $140 shipped. Which one is the better deal?

I'd say the 920. Guaranteed four cores and i've had success overclocking mine to 3.6 or so stable.

I'll vote for the AM3 and higher IMC

(unless you have a specific need for the 4th core)

The 920 can overclock just as well as other Denebs just lacks the adjustable multis. IMO get a 920, you will be able to overclock just fine using the HTT frequency and AFAIK NB frequency multi's are unlocked on all CPUs I think anyway.

I would get the 710 from Newegg. Its only 99 dollars. Buy the combo and get a free video card!
