What is the best way to maintain textbooks with paperback covers?

I bought some int'l edition textbooks, but I'm not sure how to maintain the covers properly without them ripping off or bending like crazy under normal care. Thus, I'm wondering if there's a way to increase the longevity of the textbooks.

Thanks :cookie:

never had an issue as long as you put them in the backpack carefully and such.

They will not remain in perfect condition if you get any decent amount of use out of them, but as long as you're careful you can keep them in reasonable condition. Don't leave them open and face down on a table, don't close them when pens/pencils/calculators inside the pages. Store them in a book shelf when not in use.

You can find some transparent plastic wrapping and wrap the cover of the book up.

Eh? I've got dozens of paperback books, not just text books, some of which are several years old and have been read dozens of times. They show only slight wear, otherwise are in near perfect condition. They've been shipped across the country, they've been packed into airline carry-ons, etc. You shouldn't have any problems maintaining your books if you aren't treating them like a red neck farmer.

Ripping or bending a paperback book under "normal care" .... what the hell is normal care to you? My books are either on the bookshelf, on my desk for homework, or in my backpack. How the hell can they possibly rip and bend? And yes, I do have a couple of paperbacks this year.
