Hello all, Need some advice on the best way to install drivers after you have done a clean install of Windows XP. Also I have windows XP SP1 on the install disk so it is already installed.

System is GA-SINXP1394 board with 2.66GHz, Geforce 4 TI4200 card, 512 Ram, and using the Raid onboard.

Do I need the SIS AGP driver with the Nvidia Video Drivers ?????

Thanks for your Help

Yes, install the latest chipset drivers before you install the VGA drivers. You'll need the NB/Gart driver for best performance and to avoid any possible AGP conflicts. Don't bother to install the VGA drivers from the install disc, just install the latest ones from nVidia.

Its just the chipset driver that controls the North Bridge AGP interface with your video card. I don't have any experience with Sis chipsets, but its pretty much a standard I believe. It should be included in the installation drivers for your motherboard. Beyond that, you don't really need to worry about it.

unplug all unnecessary plug and play.

install mobo drivers such as via 4in1 or nforce all in one.
from there, update windows
plug in plug and play devices such as printers, scanners etc
check windows update again

as far as apps go, install utility software first. do productivity and entertainment software last.

thats about what i generally do

Do you install Service Pack 1 before your mobo drivers? For the 8RDA, I think Epox recommends that sequence. I think it's so USB 2.0 can work and some other reasons.
