Trying to freshen up a bathroom and the grouting is all brown. Is regrouting a big deal or is there some easier way to have the very thin gaps between tiles whitened?

what could be better?

as far as grout/soap scum a mild soap/bleach solution and this thing rock. Or other abrasive/bleach cleaner.

If this is for the new digs then it sounds like you want a new proejct?

-edit- the thing is pretty torguey and does a better job than any mere human could. Oh - and did I mention its a power tool and it cleans?

were they originally brown or is that just scum?

Try painting it with a waterproof paint. They do sell a paticular type of paint for this purpoes or a related pursose, I know... For like building walls and such.

First try using the bleach preparations. Spraying it on is super easy, and works really well if the stain is mold based. If that doesn't work, buy grout dye. Easy to use, and seals the grout. I've used it on floor tile, and it's the easiest, and best solution for the problem.
