What is the best video player?

That is light, unbloated, easy-interfaced, and supports many formats? (and codec)

I've been putting up with WMP9 for awhile now and I think I need to upgrade my standards to ATOT quality.

my WMP initiates downloading codec when needed but it always says "failed to download codec" and plays the file only with sound..

could it be my router? how can I fix this?

What are you people smoking? Get the latest versions of Media Player Classic, ffdshow, dsp2dshow, Real Alternative, and Quicktime Alternative and you'll be able to play every video file in your collection. If you find one you can't play download a program called GSpot to see what codec you need.

download the K-lite codec pack.

I have the FFDshow and that and it plays everything. LITERALLY EVERYTHING.
