Sorry fo rcross posting, but I'm not getting anything all that helpful in general hardware, so ill close that thread and use this one.

The leadtek Tv card seems like it would work, but be a pain in the butt, because I would have to find splitters, and converters for RCA to S-Video etc. Is there a better card out there? The main purpose is to play gamecube/xbox/ps2 in a dorm room where there is NO room for a tv. The actual TV functioanlity wouldnt even be used.

Thats strange the TV card i have was simple too get working with the Playstation 2

it had that yellow Video in plug the same as you get on your TV's / VCR / DVD players on the card and i just hooked up the red and white audio plugs into the stereo ... 🙂

I was using some cheap TV-Excell card but its crap dont get that one ..... just grab one with that video in plug on it and you should be fine ... you could also always get a Videocard with Vivo .. Video in and Video out and do it with that but as your computer works fine and u just wanna plug in a consol then a TV card would be ideal ... should work fine mine did... it will just look a little bit blurry but that?s normal you can never get it as sharp as the TV ..when your using your comp due to the pixel stretching when you do get an image that was intended for TV on a monitor

Ohh and if the card you get has crappy software go to Dscaler and use it instead its allot better 🙂 but most cards come with good software ! so this is just incase.

😛 .... you shouldnt hafta cut or do any work on the cable's 2 get it pluged into the TV card .. so long as its got that yellow video in plug.

You could always buy an RCA to Coax Converter for about $30USD. Generally these are used for hooking DVD players into an older TV that doesn't have RCA inputs, in your case, it can accomplish the same thing. It would be a far cheaper and simpler solution than replacing the TV tuner card at this point. 🙂

There is no current TV card in this computer. Also those adapters give kind of crappy quality.

go too new egg and check out the deals for the TV/Capture cards that are on sale there and look at the pick's and the specs too find one with a yellow video in 🙂 ... there all pretty good if your unsure about one just look for a review for it with google.

Thanks will do. I think the ATI TV wonder should work just fine.
