What is the best Verizon cell phone?

With their limited selection, what is the best phone?

I want.. simple interface, speakerphone, long battery life.

I don't care about games or prettiness. I want something that can make calls and is easy to use.

Or.. is something coming out soon that is worth waiting for?

You limit yourself greatly by having a speakerphone built in on the choices of phones.

Its tri-mode, so if you live in the woods and digital service is hard to come by his would be your best bet.

Kyocera SE47 Slider
All digital, Kyocera has come a long way. Its actually a well built phone.

i don't liek the feel of the vx6000...and i couldn't wait any longer.. my $100 credit was available, and my phone keeps dying on me. I just got the vx4600 (6000 would have been cheaper sicne i would get a rebate, $20 back). Hopefully it's not craptacular. heh.

Treo 600/610 is rumored to be coming to VZW on July 12th (one of the few firm dates I've seen in months of rumors)... if you're into smartphones.

some stores are already accidentally selling the vx7000 b/c verizon sent out emails too late; it was originally supposed to come out the 25th, but they pushed it back to july 1st supposedly.

I got a chance to play with a V710 a couple days ago. It's pretty awesome... it's amazing that it has a real digital camera inside, over a megapixel. The screen is huge and just beautiful. However, the interface isn't anything better than what has come before.

The LG VX7000, on the other hand, is beautiful. It doesn't have a speakerphone, the camera is only VGA, but the interface improvements are amazing. The camera is just intuitive. The Verizon rep claimed that the powers that be are trying to standardize all cell phones to use this interface, and I can understand why.

hofo thread link for setting up speaker on a vx6000

it works, but keep in mind, its not as simple as clicking a button, it takes some working with to get it going. but check it out and give it a shot. my friend tried the instructions on his newer firmware vx6000, and it worked good.

do you know when the v710 is coming out? ive held onto my v60 for WAY TOO long (nov 2k1), and that's the phone i've been waiting for. And every1 on hofo has been naming possible release dates left and right.

V710 is already out but is pretty hard to get.
I've seen one on ebay go for 1g+
It's a hard phone to come by.
I can't justify 1g on a mobile phone.

What i don't understand is why can't motorola make phones with an INTENNA. (Internal Antenna)

I hate phones with external antennas. Especially Motorolas since it breaks so easily.
Take a thing or two from the Samsung E715. Great reception, and compact.
