What is the best value ram?

I had planned to get some semi-expensive ram before seeing zebo's results, so i decided to go with some name brand value ram. I know corsair, Kingston, and mushkin all have value ram for around $130....doesn anyone have any experience with what would be the best out of them, or any other advice on other ram ill take also.

Mushkin value

corsair value

Kingston value

Not that I have any experience with the others, but I have 2x512 of Corsair PC3200 value RAM that I have had very good luck with.

So far so good with my KVR. I've run my 2x512 at 2.5-3-3-8-2T at up to 210MHZ with no probs at all. However, if it had been available in my area at the time, I would have probably gone with Corsair VS instead. I've heard many good things about it.

Umm, I have Corsair ValueRAM I run at 2.5-3-3-6 stock, so where you are getting CAS3 is beyond me...
Also, Jotho just told you he's runnind his Kingston at 2.5

there are two different corsair value sticks, one with CAS 2.5 (vs512mb400) and one with CAS 3 (vs512mb400c3), although they seem to have the same price. 😕

Yup, I have the Corsair Value series RAM that's CAS 2.5 and runs great. Go to newegg's site and you'll see.

I've had good luck with kingston value ram that has hynix bt-d43 chips in my 2.4C system.

Granted the timings are loose at 3-4-4-8 but the 2*256 sticks will do 260fsb 1:1 and the 2*512 will do 270fsb 1:1.

By the way, these things are power-hungry like Geil ram compared to corsairs and ocz's.

Just give it a little bit of juice and they're soo stable. 😉

Hey Chick3nhead,

I've neen researching this a bit lately too.

While I've generally preffered Corsair VS, feedback is that they've latelt switched chips and peeps aren't getting much of an OC out of the new stuff. I'm hearing just barely above FSB 200 out of hard core/experienced OCer's.

They're telling me Kingston is where its at ATM. Say most Kingston stuff is now using is now using some good Micron chips getting up 230-235 FSB on their value ram.
