I don't think you'll find a decent overclocking board for $75. The 965pe boards start at around $100 shipped, last time I checked. The asrock dual vsta is cheap, but not a good overclocking board; the bios settings are limited.

Ok, well I am not going to risk my cpu on the pin mod so would a GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 (rev. 1.3) be ok?

I dont think youll find anything decent under $75, unless you go for a used one off forums.

I think the only cheap decent ones would be that Biostar or the ds3. Those are each over $75 though, but they are fairly cheap.

Ok, thanks for the advice everyone! I decided to go with the s3. It is a little over $100 but according to you guys it is well worth it.

yeah thats it... Ds3 is known to be a better overclocker than the S3... plus its like a steup in the gygabyte list of motherboards from the S3... now the latest ds3 revision is 3.3 which costs 125 shipped from clubit or ewiz ( ewiz does not advertise it as rev 3.3 but from the specs it is 3.3 for doifferences between revs in ds3 here it is : copy/paste

The major differences between various revisions are:

* Rev. 1.0: FSB 1066MHz, one system fan header, ALC883 (Vista Basic Logo)
* Rev. 1.3: FSB 1333MHz, one system fan header, ALC883
* Rev. 2.0: FSB 1066MHz, three system fan headers, ALC888 (Vista Premium Logo)
* Rev. 3.3: FSB 1333MHz, three system fan headers, ALC888

Plus some construction changes but i hear 1.3 overlocks very good too... ur basically loosing fan headers to control the speed of fans...

You could look around and see which 945P's offer what you want. Some of them are adequate overclockers and are less expensive.

Newegg needed a coupon code. Try Chiefvalue. I was looking at it last week and it was $99 plus $6 shipping for the DS3 1.3 with no coupon codes or rebates needed.

if ur looking budget, get an e4400 ( if you havent bought the processor ) and an asrock 775dual-vsta u can put the fsb to 300mhz and with a 10x multi, thats 3ghz. it also has pci-e & agp and ddr & ddr2 and ide & serial ata, w/ onboard lan/8chaudio usb plus spdif hdmi audio. thats about a 200 $ combo.
