I had read somewhere that someone used half a wooden clothespin. I tried that for about 10 minutes and got nowhere. 30 seconds with a flathead screwdriver got the job done. It was the first time I was ever installing a HSF, and I swore I was gonna crack the core, but everything worked the way it's supposed to :) just be careful.

I used a long flat screwdriver and it only took a minute to install. Some older AMD HSF clips were installed using a nut driver. There are good instructions on AMD's website. It is much more complete than the poster that comes with the cpu.
