What is the BEST thing you have ever done?

Not really a parody, I actually want to see some of the good things you guys do here because the other one can get depressing.

1. Built a house for the poor before (but that was with a group).
2. Built a church before (another group in a poor area)
3. Drove all night to another city to help out a buddy who was extremely depressed (but he was a friend)
4. Skipped a college exam to drive all night to another city to visit a mentor in the ICU and emotionally support/help out the family.

I honestly can't think of any really over the top ones though, but I am sure you guys have some things.

taught tennis to under priveledged kids who have gone on to play for high school, and perhaps college scholarships. All for free.

The other day at Wendy's, the cashier gave me back too much change, so I put the extra it in the charity jar.

Somehow, I don't think a vote for socialism was the best thing you ever did. Not that voting for Bush would have been either.

Ummmm... please don't flame this thread, please...!!!! 🙁

I found $10 on the ground and gave it to a group collecting donations to buy Haitian orphans a generator for their school instead of spending it on useless junk for myself.
I also volunteer as a group leader for my churches Jr. High youth group every Saturday night.

P&N folks, why isn't this thread in P&N. Move this thread to P&N. 😛

Did some pro bono volunteer work, but I sort of did it to pad my resume, so I'm not sure if that counts.

Once I helped a guy push his car a couple blocks, and through a busy intersection. I'm tutoring some kids for free at the moment. That's about it.

Yeah, every once in a while when I bike with friends we will stop by a car who needs help changing a tire. That is always a nice thing to do to help someone out.

Tutoring can be quite rewarding, huh.

I ran after some lady and gave her back her fatty wallet (yeah, big wallet -- didn't look inside) even though she was walking fast and ignoring me yelling after her 🙂. Plus, once I handed it to her I just turned around and walked away. That was a couple years ago in Chicago.

I donate spare change quite a bit in those jar deallys. It's not a lot, but it's more than most people do. I've also helped countless people with computer problems, and have probably spent 100 hrs throughout my life doing that and taking time out when I'm busy so they can get their PCs working good again, for free. It did get annoying after a while becuase people would turn to me whenever they had a problem, but it was still pretty rewarding. 🙂
