Normally, I use Shout Gel for stain removal.
It lists all the things it removes, but curiously, blood isn't one of the things it removes.
Now, Shout wipes, which I assumed were the same stain remover in little packets with a wipe, does list blood. So, apparently they are not.
So, now I am wondering about the chemistry of blood and stain removers.
I like to know things, and I think there is probably a pretty easy way to figure out what stain removers remove what sort of stains.

well if you would rather not boil pee on your stove top... I have found out that putting hydrogen peroxide on the bloodspot and dabbing with a white cloth will bring out a lot of the stain.

Don't let it get hot. As soon as you notice the stains on the clothing, get it into cold (room temp or lower) water. Most detergents will work okay from that point. Put it into hot water any you've likely got a permastain.

A blood stain is orange after you wash it two or three times, but that's normal isn't it Norman?

I've heard dousing it in gasoline and lighting it on fire works pretty well.

I got (someone else's) blood on my shirt at a concert once, it was a favorite shirt, so I tried a lot to get it out. The best thing that worked was shampoo - it came out after a couple washings. Can't even tell it's there now.

I got something from a grocery store once. It came in a little yellow bottle. It took the stain right out, without even washing it.

whatever you do, don't use hot water. it sets the stain. cold water and soap is a good start. if that doesn't work, move on to the newfangled stain removers.
