What is the best thermal paste method for GPU ?

I'm thinking of reapplying TIM, and I'm wondering which one is the best method to use on the GPU ?

Seeing as how the GPU die often lacks a heat spreader, I use the same method I used in the socket 462 and 370 days of spreading a thin layer over the whole die then applying a small dot in the center to help push out any air bubbles.
This has worked best for me.
