How many ports? If 8 port, I don't think you can beat the D-Link DSS-8+. I'm using three of them. I've seen it for less than $100 sometimes.

I would just look and see what kind of deals you can find and then compare from the deals. Once you find the cheapest ones you can I would start a thread asking everyone on here if they have any gripes/comments about the cheap ones you've found. Check the coupon pages and look for deals that way. Also check pricewatch just for the heck of it to give yourself an idea of the wholesale price and try to beat it. There are many brands and with most cheap brands you won't be able to tell too much difference. Good luck on finding something fast and cheap!

I think the netgear fs105 is like 90 bucks. It is 5 port.

My friend has a 5 port Linksys switch. So far it has kicked some butt for playing games through the network.

Have you read the switch round up at Anandtech. All will perform just about the same. Some people will always this this one rocks without having anything to compares to. So just find one where you can get the best deal on it. Here's the article

Well, i have both the D-Link DSS8+ and the 5 port Linksys... and i can't tell a difference. Both the better value would be the D-Link.
