My 2.8 GHz seems to be running jerky sometimes, I don't know whether it is because I have hyperthreading enabled or what but I would just like to know whether anyone know a good tweaking software in which i can fix this problem and/or make the computer run smoother

i don't think there's any magic software that will get rid of your problems... you might have to troubleshoot this one...

have you defragged recently? computer specs? When is it jerky, in games, in windows/linux? more info please

my computer is: 2.8c Ghz, 2x 512mb PC3200 ram, gigabyte motherboard with 800FSB. It runs smoothly in games, but in windows after pressing the start button and going to control panel, the computer freezes for about 5 seconds before the icons are displayed next to the control panel. Same with right clicking on an object it seems to take a while to go into the "send to" icons.

Thanks For Any Help 🙂
