What is the best site for baseball cards?

Ok. I got a hold of a bunch of baseball cards M/NM condition. I've never collected baseball cards before. These were given to me by a couple, whose son has lost interest in them. I want to know what is the best website where I can look up their value. Surely there is an online database.

best bet would be to go to a store and pick up a "Beckett's" which is a monthly magazine...best bet would be a card or comic book or magazine store

Please be aware that 99% of all cards from 1986-2004 are worth less than a nickel/each. Cards dated before that get exponentially more valuable, the older they are.

The baseball card economy has been utterly crushed by a glut of sets over the past decade, and no one really seems to have interest anymore. The money is in the older cards, and condition is everything. Good luck.

Lucky me...I collected from 1984 to somewhere in the early 90's when I couldn't keep track with what was what anymore. Overproduction killed what used to be a great hobby.

I started collecting in 82 and stopped serious collecting in 94 during the strike. Now the only baseball cards I get are the current years full retail Topps set.

Have every full Topps set since 86 so far.

It's really too bad Topps is such a horrid set (at least it was when I used to collect cards a few yeards ago).

The earlier years were actually quite valuable. Mid to late 90s they really started to lose their value due to over production.
