I'm interested in baking desserts and becoming a better baker in general. However, whenever I google for recipies, I get tons of differnt variations, some of which might be good, and some bad. I was looking for recommendations for websites with good baking /dessert recipies that you've had great experiences with...

Anyone?

I've had pretty decent luck with www.foodnetwork.com, but I'm kind of a food channel addict. There are some good recipes, and most of them are targeted towards beginners / intermediate cooks.

If you're diligent getting fresh, and the right ingredients, measuring them out according to the recipes you'll be able to get most things accomplished that you want. However, there is nothing like getting some expert instruction. Quite a lot of baking involves adjusting recipes based on the results you're getting. It is done by feel and observation.

Is there a local Bakery that might give classes? Here in SE Michigan, Zingermans offers every kind of baking classes.
