I was wondering which RPG had the best reply value. After beating the game, or not, which one do think carries the best overall game play or plot that keeps you coming back.

I apologize if the list is incomplete or bias. I?m a Bioware & Interplay fan and enjoy playing most of their RPGs. If you feel I left a good game out, please PM me and I will update the list.

I voted Diablo II Its one of my favorite games of all time.

I really like Final Fantasy II for SNES, I really wanna play it again, but I can't find a playstation remake or anything. PSone released a FF & FF2 version called FF: Origins, but that was FF2 in japan never released in US. I want the real US version!!

Oh well....

I voted Deus Ex because its probably the best game I have ever played. Hell I almost never play a single player game twice and played Deus Ex all the way 3 times and made it pas half way there in a couple more games. You always seem to find new and interesting in that game, it's so polished it makes you think its real.

Edler Scrolls 3?
Elder Scrolls 3, or Morrowind.

Best for replay, maybe Morrowind, except it's so big you won't even finish it through once, so it's more longevity than replay value.

I've played Deus Ex through 3 times so far, fun every time.

How about including Gothic II even though it probably won't beat out some of the other entries?

FF series is great, but I never considered them to be very replayable. Maybe I'd replay one a year little or something.

Baldur's Gate (Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights, Planescape) series is more replayable because of the different classes, but invariably I end up playing the same class.

Diablo is fun, but I don't really consider it to be an RPG.

Fallout is cool because it's so open and you're not restricted to class.

Everyone is raving about KOTOR, but I haven't played it yet so I don't know.

You left out the granddaddy of them all! The Ultima series! I could replay Ultima 3, 4, 5, and 7 for weeks.

Added the two additional suggestions.

Lonya: I meant Morrowind but didn't want to limit the series.

Asheron's Call 1

Haven't played in 2 years but still have an urge to play every once in a while. Probably similar to people who quit smoking. I smoked Asheron's call for 3 years in high school and quit cold turkey when I met the love of my life.

Bioware makes probably the best RPG's ever made. Unfortunatley they don't work well with replayability. Same quests, same dialog, and LOTS of walking around for the same stuff. There just isn't enough there to make me want to replay the game. The character classes are different, sure, but other than that it's the same exact game for the most part.

BGII tried making a few specific quests based on class, as did NWN, but it's not enough to warrant a replay of the game.

Just my humble opinion.

is Everquest an RPG? Never played it but I know I saw a show that was all about people being addicted to it. Sounds like good replay value

I wish I could have liked Deus Ex, I never made it far, and it pissed me off so I never played it farther... I think I put about 2 hours into that game after I bought it.. been on my shelf since.

Fallout 1 - 2 and Planescape: Torment, so for me Black Isle beats Bioware for replayability.

FO 1 - 2 being "good" and "evil" really are different and change how you affect the world not just the voice-over for the final cutscene. With both games the skills and weapons choose also make for a greater change since you only really control 1 character (plus computer-controlled NPCs) while in the Bioware RPGs you fully control the entire party.

In both, the way you can solve problems also changes based on your skills -- in FO1 you can kill the Master with pure stealth, guns blazing, a super-sledge, or either of two ways to talk him to death.

Planescape is similar but adds character class and alignment that change themselves based on what you do and who you talk to.

Yeah unfortunately they never re-released 2(/4) on playstation in the US (I think they did in japan though). You could try to find an SNES cartridge but it'd probably be expensive. I still have one, box and manual too. :) I also have Chrono Trigger, FF3, and Secret of Mana carts. Problem is that people like me don't wanna sell them. Your best bet is probably playing it on an emulator (I recommend zsnes :)).

I voted for Diablo II. The way Blizzard have made it, it basically offers unlimited replayability.

Also Deus Ex isn't stictly an RPG but more like an RPG/FPS hybrid.

WTF people said Final Fantasy? How is Final Fantasy replayable at all? It's a totally linear storyline.

I said Fallout. However, I haven't played the BG series.
