What is the best simple tool to edit .avi (divx, xvid, etc) files?

I used to use VirtualDub back in the day, is there anything better that I should try?

In this case, I want to cut some scenes out of a tv show.

Thanks!

i think there might be something newer out with more compatibility, but dunno, gotta check the doom9 forums.

however, if you're dealing with VBR audio, virtualdub won't keep sync, but nandub should.
