i was curious about what monitor is the absolute best for gaming. i was conflicted whether to buy an lcd/plasma t.v type monitor, or like a very good lcd computer monitor. i was curious as to which was best for refresh times, image quality, and the least amount of ghosting. thanks.

It's not the absoulte BEST LCD out there, but it's a very good gaming montior and the price can't be beat

I've been using an LCD with no complaints for a while now. Many people will say LCD's aren't up to par quality-wise, others don't think so. Maybe you can test out a friend's to see for yourself?

There are drawbacks to each display technology.

(Plasmas can have problems with burn-in etc.)

My DLP projector has rainbows as a drawback, but if they don't bother you then a DLP could be a nice solution.
It's going to be pretty expensive to get a nice one in high res vs a standard monitor though.
DLPs don't suffer from burn-in, have good image quality, nice black levels, response time is quite low, and doesnt' really get ghosting.

What kind of budget are you talking about here?

Are you planning on using it in a HT type environment or at a desk?
