What is the best resolution for a 15" laptop

I'm going to purchase an IBM Thinkpad R series laptop and was wondering what resolution and screen size you'd recommend.

The options are for either a 14.1" or 15" screen. The resolution choices are XGA (1024x768) and SXGA+ (1400x1050).

Thanks.

I had 1024x768 on a 14.1 before, its not bad but higher res lets you put more stuff on.. I would do 1400x1050.. my current notebook is 1920x1600.. super sharp but im going blind also.. 🙂

Depends on what's legible and comfortable to you -- anything above 1024x768 on a 15" causes me eyestrain after awhile, but I have lousy eyesight.

I like 1280x1024 on a 15''...

But like some say, ya gotta be able to read it..

😀

I have a 15.6-in screen on my laptop, and I use that same res, but then I set the thing for large fonts - and it is just about tperfect for my weak, tired eyes.

I'm using 14" 1400*1050 on the T42p at the moment. I had an Inspiron with 15" 1400*1050. I prefer the 15" with SXGA+ res. Still trying to adjust to the 14" SXGA+. The text are a tad small. My eye sights are not what they used to be. Not to say they were great to begin with.

Definately 1400x1050

Thats what I use I love that res though obviously the highier the better. You can always just bump up the font size once it gets to big.
