Stick to Lithiums or Ni-MH, my A95 gets over 300-350 shots per set of Lithiums, haven't tested it with rechargeables yet but I will soon.
OMFG! You actually pay over $8.00 for batteries for 350 pictures?

That'd be with the LCD on, full flash, everything. Also includes me playing with the camera between pictures, like viewing and zooming in and whatnot. Turn that stuff off and just take pictures and it averages about 600 shots or so per set.

For a camera you should be using NiMH rechargeables.
Powerex and sanyo are both high quality, the energizer 2500mAh are the best deal by me at $17 for 8.

So what is the best charger? maha c204? The charger does make a difference.

CF recommended.
He specifically asked, "What is the best rechargeable battery for digital cameras?"

Using four AA batteries at a time, 24 2300mAh NiMHs means you can have a set in the camera, a set in the external flash, and still have 4 more sets charged and ready to go, for LESS THAN $30.00! That's the best for that application.

I'll tend to agree.. although there can be large differences in advertised versus actual battery capacity, most of them are pretty good about it.

At least get the Maha charger, though. The charger is the single most important aspect, it dictates both how long your batteries last and how fully they charge. Some sh!tty chargers will only charge your battery to like 90% of capacity, all the while overheating them.

considering the money saved over hundreds of charges compared to alkaline u shouldn't care if the batteries come with a charger. but most companies do have a package.

Get some NiMH batteries. They will fit right in. Or, if you want to "mod" the camera, you can use lithium ion cells. That's a bit tricky, but you will get MUCH better battery life than regular alkaline or NiMH batteries.

Monster brand rechargables are the best. The double AAs I use in my digital camera were like $19.99 each, and I had to get 4, but they really made the picture a lot sharper!

Don't forget the monster usb cable from the camera. The transfer speed was twice as fast as the memory's theoretical read speed!

pffft! I bought a Monster brand camera, and it recreates whatever I take a picture of in digital 3D holographics and has a button to make a realistic resin reproduction. It was only $43,000!

Two sets of Radio Shack NiMHs have lastest four+ years and 15000+ pics.

Not on a single charge of course.
