What is the best quiet fan?

Right now im using a 60mm 50cfm delta on my thermalright sk6 heatsink (on a 1.4ghz tbird). It sounds like an airplane Anyways I am looking around for the quietest 60mm fan that still does a good job......I dont want my cpu temp rising so much. Thanks in advance.

I put an 80mm Panaflo on my SK-6. It is keeping my xp1800+ (running at 1610) at 44C under full load. See the link in my sig for full system details.

Heh same here xZero, I just put mine on about an hour ago. What he means is rotate the 80mm fan 45 degrees so the sides aren't parallel to the heatsink.

I still dont see how the clips would fit on the fan to hold it on the heatsink so it wont blow away?

If you don't want to mess around w/ the 80 mm on the angle, you might want to check out papst fans - they're pretty quiet, not sure if they'll have the airflow you're used to though.

Sorr that sucks so much... I dont feel like disassembling my computer and putting a 80mm fan on, otherwise I'd do it and take a photo to show you. Hopefully that will give you an idea how to put an 80mm fan on the SK-6. The red is the heatsink, and the blue is the fan.

Did you use zip ties for mount the 80mm?

You dont need zip ties or any extra means of attachment. Just rotate the fan 45 degrees and push the clips over the corners of the fan. It mounts just like the 60mm fan except the fan is rotated to fit. The M$paint diagram did a good job at showing how this is mounted
