I am looking forward to next gen games (IE halflife2)
My current card is a Radeon 9000.

Price/performance is defined as the cost of the card divided by how long it will give acceptable performance. Define acceptable however you wish, just keep it consistent.

I don't really think any of the current cards are going to give acceptable performance for long in some of the newer games coming out.

Sentiments like this are why I passed on a 9600 Pro for a 9800 non-pro. (which I could flash to a 9800 pro)
That is my vote.

From what I've seen of early HL2 benchmarks I think a 9800 is going to be the minimum needed to run the game at any decent framerate and resolution/detail level. For that matter there's parts of Halo that a 9800 struggles with. I've got benchmarks of the "FLT" release and retail pre and post patch I'm going to put up in a few minutes.
