What is the best poker strategy book to purchase?

So you win half of the games, how do you do in the other half...If you're in the money then I don't think you need any books. Just play more hands and get experience. I'm assuming that you're talking about tourneys.

Here's my strategy, I just push All-in every time it's my turn.

It works (x-1)/x times per game, where x is the number of hands I get dealt.

I enjoyed killer poker, not sure who its by. But i have to say that the Super System is the best book out there. Poker players call it the bible. Its writen by texas dolly (doyal brunson).

1. Super System
2. Harrington on Hold em (tournaments)
3. Small Stakes Hold em (ring games)

you = winnar

Theory of Poker by sklansky, Hold em for advanced players by sklansky, pot limit no limit poker by Ciaffone.

Winning at Low Limit Hold'em by Lee Jones is also considered a bible for those playing...well...low limits ($2/4,$3/6,$4/8, etc.).

Anything Sklansky writes is worth reading. Super System has long been considered the bible of poker. Some parts are arguably outdated, but it's still the best reference for beginners. The new update has some great new stuff.

for general poker, i think most people say either theory of poker (sklansky), or super system (brunson, et al). haven't read either, so dunno.

So far I have yet to read any books, for online low stakes poker I think a book could help alot. But overall sitting at a real table, I dont want anything that is going to make me play a certain way. There is never one way to play poker, your play should always be different at every table you sit at.

half? In a 10-man hold'em table? That's not too shabby.

Add Skalansky's Hold 'em for Advanced Players and Theory of Poker and you are good to go.

😀

Any tips for a limit hold 'em, planning on jumping from the friends table to the casino ... pretty much most of the time I'm top 3, but I don't know if it's because my friends suck or I'm just good 🙂

I'm okay with no limit but limit is pretty different any tips?

For limit hold 'em, start with Winning Low Limit Hold 'Em by Lee Jones. Then read Small Stakes Hold 'Em and The Theory of Poker by Sklansky. With those books and practice, you should be able to beat most low limit (up to 6/12) casino games.
