Basically title says it all, Will the switech MC462 still be the best without that big fan, or will a cooler like the taisol copperbottom rain supreme?

MC462 will still come out on top. But for $60 bare it might not be what you want for your needs. Are you planning on O/Cing much?

Excluding the MC462, and speaking of normal affordable heatsinks;
The Alpha PEP66T would perform best with a lower rpm fan, due to its passive airflow design.

Taisols are good but require at least the low profile delta fan. A lower airflow fan would be really inefficient due the fin design. Take a look at the CoolerMaster EP5-6I11.

Yes I will prolly be overclocking. I am just trying to decide what heatsink to get, and if the loudness of the delta is really worth it. Also what fan comes standard on the switech 462, I thought it was the delta, but maybe I am wrong. What about that CPC-30370 that kdcomputers is selling, I heard it is the exact same as one of the lower end switechs?

Alpha PEP66T or PAL6035 with the Sanyo Denki Fan.. then again I'd say the Copper bottom Taisol using the Sanyo Denki would be better but more expensive than the 6035 that can be bought with the Sanyo Denki stock..

The Everflow fan on the Volcano II is actually kind of loud, about the same as the YS Tech equivalent.. but it's no Delta 38.. that's for damn sure..
