Pit. The game is a BLAST. Check it out at Amazon. The game sounds really stupid, and when you're first explaining it to people, they think it's stupid too... but after that first practice round, everyone is hooked. I haven't met anyone who hasn't liked it. It's loud and somewhat "physically active" (think "spoons"), but it's a ton of fun.

i like outburst, or taboo or pictionary.. i also like trivial pursuit, but no one ever plays with me..
 
Playing Taboo with my in-laws is fun. My father in-law is 100% incapable of not saying the forbidden word and my mother in-law and my wife blame the clue givers when they can't guess...

This game teeters on the edge of fisticuffs whenever we play it... :laugh:
 
Cranium is a pretty fun game cause it combines aspects from a bunch of different games.

Taboo and Pictionary though are pretty safe bets generally.

munchkin and all of its expansion games: munchkin 2, 3, bites, space, space 2, fu, super, and anyothers that I forgot. get em all together and the game is a blast
