I want to buy 168PIN DIMMS that will run at 150MHz FSB with CAS 2-2-2 timing. I've heard that the CORSAIR CM654S128-133C2 will do this or should I buy PC150 from Mushkin? I have an Asus P3V4X motherboard and my PIII-550E will run at 825MHz. Only problem is that I have to clock back (-33MHz) my memory to get it to work.

TIA, Mitch

I would suggest Mushkin. I have used their DIMMs in over 25 builds now and they are hands down the best and most stable.

Thanks, but can you be more specific. Mushkin's PC150 Enhanced HSDRAM or their High Perf REV2 PC133-222. Which one will do 150FSB at 2-2-2, in your experience?

Thanks again, Mitch

Well Mushkin's PC133 rev2 is guaranteed to run @ cas 2-2-2 and will OC very close to 150 mHz @ 2-2-2, but i dont know if it will actually run @ 150mHz will cas is set to 2-2-2. As for Mushkins PC150, it isnt rated to run at that speed in cas 2-2-2 mode. rather it is rated to run 150 mHz @ cas 2-3-2. i dont know if the difference is enough to sway your opinion one way or the other. look at it this way, unless you know you are going to run your fsb @ 150 mHz there is no need for the PC150 stuff, and remember that it is only rated to do so @ cas 2-3-2. whereas the PC133 rev2 is rated 2-2-2 @ 133 mHz, and then some...

There is also the Kingmax PC150, which I've heard good things about. Just another option...

Yes, the Kingmax PC150 is supposed to be great stuff too. I've heard nothing but good things about it. But, like the Mushkin PC150, it also is not rated to run cas 2-2-2 @ 150 mHz. i dont know exactly what the ratings are, but you can find them at www.kingmax.com.

Mushkin maybe expensive, but expensive is a relative term when it comes to RAM. i dont know if RAM prices are at their low for the time being, but i do know they have been going down over the past few months. Mushkin's 128 MB PC133 rev3 is $133 per stick, while not more than a month ago, the rev2 was $166. i know i can get it for much cheaper from someone here in the forums, but i'm in a bit of a sticky situation and i might have to buy direct from Mushkin...oh well, its a few bucks more for the best RAM on the market. i can deal with that...

Crucial will hit 150.

I have a 256stick of Cas2 PC133, and a 128mb stick of cas2 pc133, both running together at 151 Cas2.

Your best deal would be memory from Crucial. I have (6) 128-MB sticks of CT16M64S4D7E and it all runs at CAS 2(2-2-2) at 150 FSB [ I have (2) 128-MB sticks in 3 different systems]. A 128-MB sticks costs about $91 plus they give you free 2nd Day shipping through UPS. Better yet, go to this address: Additional 5% off at Crucial and then click on the blue colored "GO" button at the bottom. This will give you an extra 5% off their normal web prices. So each 128-MB stick would now be $86.69

When people say their RAM runs cas2, is that understood to mean cas 2-2-2, or could they mean cas 2-3-2 or something along those lines?

also, i definitely would prefer mosel vitalic chips over infineon chips, but just like the 128 MB PC133 rev2 (mosel vitalic) is rated cas 2-2-2 @ 133 mHz, the 128 MB PC133 rev3 (infineon) is rated cas 2-2-2 @ 150 mHz. now even if i dont get my fsb up to 150 mHz, wouldnt i have a better chance with the rev3 when OCing from 133 mHz?
