I already know that Unix/Linux are the ones that many recommend and am very aware why. I've been learning to hack for sometime now and originally started out with Windows xp and then sooner moved to 7. I've decided that I need to get into something more complicated and that linux and unix operating systems are way safer and are open source rather than closed like windows. Also, what is the difference between unix and linux. I heard that it's the brand name that has copyright and linux is one of their many brothers over and evolved and linux is free. I am very convinced though to go with linux because it was supposedly created by hackers. I feel it's time to grow up and get into linux. But another prob I have is... What Linux operating systems would be good for hacking? There's red hat, there's ubuntu, and a few others out. Probably more than I could figure out. I want to be in net. security someday and it is necessary to learn this stuff if to do so.
Basically this is what I'm looking for:
-very secure
-hack friendly
-comfortable work space (Desktop, graphics, not big buttons, etc... I tried ubuntu and it wasn't that comfortable... I made me feel like I was in a box with a lot ofcompressedd objects)
-what most hackers would use andrecommendd
-open sourced (obvious)
-terminal
-non-outdated looking... I mean I looked at red hat and it looked pretty much like windows 95 which is just lame and feels like I'm even in a smaller box... I wanna feel comfortable when working)
All answers are welcome (Except for hate or I'm better than youcommentss cuz I already said I'm abeginnerr with this and am used to windows hacking. So you are a dick if you do that and should get hit by a car...) and I thank you for all of your help... 🙂

We do not mind discussions about hacking in general.
We do not allow discussion about how and what to use.
And this " So you are a dick if you do that and should get hit by a car...) and I thank you for all of your help..." is Not language that we allow in Tech forum.
