The question make perfect sense.

Have any of you ever SEEN a movie you regard as one of the best? Have you ever SEEN a movie you regard as one of the worst?

More often than not, one has a general outline of the story to a movie they are going to watch.

You now have a perspective and a story outline from which to make a judgement call, a theory, an educated hypothesis on wether a movie will be good or bad. Physicists do this sort of thing all the time.
