I plan to get a P3 700E to overclock to 1Ghz for a friend, which is the best motherboard for this one. I don't need on board sound or video. I would like the RAID on board and the 815 chipset. I will entertain VIA chipset too. He plans to do video editing too.

Thanks.

cusl-2 if you want an 815 chipset and dont mind paying the premium. if you want cheaper and like via then go with the CUV4x :D i have had both and like both, prefer the cusl-2 over the cuv4x slightly because of the onboard ata/100 raid, also i am biased 815 :D

If you want to take your P3 to the highest OC potential, you should avoid BX because the lack of 1/2 AGP divider will be a major obstacle. I highly recommend i815, or if you want DDR, VIA ApolloPro 266. Since you want RAID, you can pretty much elminated the Asus CUSL2 series. I highly recommend the MicroStar 815EP Pro-R, no onboard video, RAID controller, 1MHz increments, very affordable, its clearly your best bet given your requirements.

abit sa6r or the sa6 seem to be pretty good boards for overclocking p3's. i've never owned one, but my friend swears by it, he is a real enthusiast. the 815 chipset allows for the 1/2 agp divider, and running the memory different speed than the fsb in case it can't handle it...

Why bother with the P3? You can can get an Athlon 900 for the same price as a P3/700, and overclock it higher without messing with your FSB.
