What is the BEST monitor?

I'm looking into buying a new 19" CRT or a 17" LCD.
Budget about $500.
Use: General Gamming (a lot) and surfing (a lot)
Any suggestions?

Eizo hands down. Their high-end is untouchable. I wish I could afford them. :-(

Anyways, check out the Eizo T765. I hear it's top-shelf.

I just got my Mitsubishi 2070SB from Dell for $513. It's NEC/Mitsubishi's best 21". Granted, after sales tax it was $50 over your budget and I got it through a fairly rare 25% off deal, but if you aren't in a huge hurry you can find a similar deal on a good 21" monitor.

I just can't imagine spending more than about $300 on a 19" monitor(after dell's coupons, of course), and after using my 21" for 10 days, I never want to go back to a 19".
