I have an original stand up pac-man machine that I want to put up on ebay or something.

It's in great condition and I've heard that one just like it sold for $2800.

Does anyone have any experience shipping arcade machines? I have NO experience at all.

Box it with protective boxing, and use Truck Freight.

Just write in the auction that "Buyer makes all shipping/handeling arrangements, seller will only bring the machine as far as the doorstep :)"

I have a friend who sells/trades machines quite a bit and he only sells locally or close enough to arrange a midpoint pickup place... that way you dont have shipping costs.

Easy...make it your buyer's responsibility to arrange packaging and transportation.
Most likely they will need to contract with a reputable full-service motor freight company.

Yeah, and Ms. Pacs sell better, too ;)
I've only ever seen boards sold on ebay, so I guess I'll agree to have the buyer deal with it, though that may act as a deterrent to some people.

2800 for an original Pac-Man? What were THEY smoking???
Now, if it was the Galaga/Ms. Pac machine, that is a good price on a NEW game.

When I was in the biz (a few years ago) we sold cocktail Ms. Pacs for 495, Pacs for 395.

If the machine is in good working condition a local reseller will give you a coupla hundred for it. Look for "home entertainment" businesses or "home arcade" businesses in the yellow pages.

You crate it then ship it freight. Do a search on google, there is a website that explains how to do this.

Only sell in a tri-state area and drive that sucker yourself to save the shipping cost! Or better yet charge $50 for Dan's Delivery Service, or replace Dan with your name :p

Really? haha.. a guy from Intel told me that..

but a local arcade owner told me i could easily get 1000$ for it.. he said he would talk to some of his friends who are interested in old school arcades... anyways - here is a bad picture of it.. no digi cam :)
