What is the best method to clean an LCD screen?

I bought klearscreen from outpost.com (they are fry's electronics) and I was unimpressed. I realized that I was using a crappy cloth to wipe it with. Once I combined a good cloth and the klear screen, my laptop screen looks brand new. Also lightly brush the screen to get the big chunks of dust off before cleaning it with the solution. You don't want that crap being scrapped into the screen now do we!

HTH :D

Make sure to use distilled water and only 100% cotton clothes because contaminents in tap/dirty water could damage the anti-glare coating and non-cotton fibers could also damage the coating.

I use Klearscreen and nothing else.

FFS: Its not like LCD screens are fossilised dinosaur bones or anything, they can withstand a bit of bloody punishment. Whats with this distilled water crap? Ordinary tap water works fine unless you clean it everyday and you happen to live in a limestone cave. Even better, use methylated spirits.

I was going to ask the same thing about cleaning the screens, but I think everyone has pretty much covered it. However, this is my favorite response.. ;) hehe..

Oh yes.
How much is your LCD monitor?
Very soon, the price will drop to bottom.
It's not contact lens and your eyes, really need to take that seriously?

Do you stick your eyes on the screen?

You really just need to use a clean paper or cloth to clean it.
And some LCD such as Eizo's have a protective glass to protect the screen.

You've obviously never lived in Los Angeles.. great tap water quality here.

FYI the anti glare coating is extremely delicate and damage to it can be as annoying as a dead/lazy pixel and is not covered by the warranty.
