What is the best Merinera (sp?) that you can buy at the grocery store?

I have not come across one that I think is up to the same standards as a restaurant, but I like pasta and its inexpensive. What are your thoughts? I'm willing to try new things here.

As always, thanks for reading....

i have no idea. I feel like all store bought sauce has no taste.

Anyone know of good things you can add to sauce to get some flavor?

Marinara is the correct spelling.

Barilla makes some kick a$$ sauces, but they best way is to buy tomato paste and tomatoes and make your own sauce. Google for recipes.

Yeah, in my opinion, Barilla's sauces are generally the best I've tried. I also use Ragu sometimes, depending on what's available.

Ragu's "chunky" sauces are semi-okay. Everything else is so watered down it isn't worth putting it on pasta, as none of it "sticks" and it tastes like you are eating just the pasta...

Anything but Prego is fine for me
Allergic reactions are not fun

I personally like Ragu, or homemade

O.K. solid responses....thanks for the spelling heads up.

I will try out Barilla..I'm not much of a sauce maker at this stage in my fast paced life.

Its easier than you might think... It wont take you longer than the time it takes to boil the water for the pasta...

Oh, and Barilla sauces are not 0.69 cents like Ragu either....
