Looking for a really good credit card to apply for (actually my wife). She has outstanding credit, and wants to get a new card. Anything with rewards is a plus, but extremely low interest rates and no annual charge is the main key.

thanks

my financial planning teacher used to advertise his discovery cc. it gives him back 1% cash back for everything he purchased.

why it has to be lowest interest? you shouldn't carry a balance at all.

macy credit card seems charge you the most for the APR. 35% maybe.

does she want to get rid of her outstanding debt? discover gold has a promotion right now for 0% apr on balance transfers through dec, and 0% through the life of the loan as long as you use your card twice a month after dec. very sweet deal.

My cards all have a 0% interest rate since I don't carry a balance. Since even the lowest are 9-10%, carrying a balance is a really bad idea compared to living within your means.

Carry just an average $1,000 balance and you're missing out on $100/year or more that you could either save or spend on something you want instead of giving it to the CC company.

Many people who carry a balance find that it creeps up and up until finally they're going even deeper in debt with consolidation loans or bankruptcy.

Rewards are only good if you don't carry a balance. The 1% back is easily eaten up if you carry ANY balance at all (though a 0% intro APR card with rewards is good during the intro period, ie Blue Cash).

As a side note I just got a 7.9% fixed APR card that is 0% for the first year.

which card was that?

Yes, of course its best not to carry a balance, but why not find a card with the lowest interest rate possible in case a big purchase is ever needed to be made?

Mine is just a normal Platinum Visa from Bank of America. I'm not sure if it's advertised on their web site or not, I just got the offer in the mail.

I've found MBNA accounts to be best. The online web statements, etc are extremely clear and easy to workout, compared to my Discover card account.

I had an offer from Citibank the other day for a FIXED 4.99% card (not a promo rate) with $7000-20,000 limit.
