hi ,
Im using the browser that came with SuSE ... just wondering what different ones are better ? without downloading a whole lot of junk onto my PC.🙂

which platform should i download I have SuSE Linux 8.2 ... i dont know anything about this yet Linux GTK or Linux GTK2 = XFT ?

EDIT : Ive started downloading Linux GTK one 😉

hi ,

Im actually using Galeon just now i changed to the gnome desktop from kde ... it seems easier in here but not as nice 🙁

I like firebird.

Galeon is fine too.

GTK and GTK2 are graphic libraries for all the icons and colors and stuff for your windows.
GTK is older and may be a bit stable or quicker or something, but normally I use GTK2 when asked about it. Both GTK and GTK2 can coexist at the same time with no problems.

Personally, I use Mozilla 1.5 at the moment. Tabbed browsing rocks. When you've used it for even a week, and you have to use IE, you'll start thinking it's crap. 🙂 Same is true of any non-tabbed capable browser.

I'm partial to the full Mozilla as well. It works great, and I've been using it since 0.9.7 or so. If there's some compelling reason to switch, I will, but until then I happen to like the fact that I have a browser that pretty much looks and behaves the same in Windows, OSX, and Linux (as I regularly use all 3 OS's).

NO NO NO all you mozilla lemmings have it all WRONG! (including you firebird morons, It's still beta after ALL!)

The BEST Linux browser of all time is Internet Explorer 5 running under WINE. Can't beat the best! (because it's most common.)

😛

Im actually rather liking Epiphany, it's the default browser that comes with Gnome 2.4, very fast and lightweight.
It's lacking some features that Firebird has, but overall I like it alot.

firebird when im using linux. like it more than galeon, Konqueror and whatever else is available.

drag...dont blaspheme

I like plain mozilla. I've tried firebird, and it hasn't yet given me a compelling reason to switch. I use galeon also, when I want something that will open everything in tabs.

Um, a browser that works pretty much the same across Linux & Windows, tabbed-browsing, mouse-gestures, M2 email client, excellent interface.... Opera 7! I won't use anything else 😛
