Hmm you can be the first one in the US (maybe the world) to get CMO's new 56" LCD panel with display of 3840x2160. That's probably THE BEST right now. WIll probably run you around $50K, maybe a little more change.

Good luck...

Well, actually, I am looking for one that will fit on a computer desk. What you suggested does sound intriguing though,

It all depends on what you're trying to do with the monitor. If it's just for HDTV, then a high end DLP or LCD projector with screen would look amazing, as would a super large LCD TV. However, if you plan on using the monitor as a computer monitor as well, you'd be much better off with a true computer monitor that can do HD resolution, like the Dell 2405fpw or the 30" Apple Cinema Display.

I want to use the LCD monitor as a HDTV and like a regular computer monitor. I also enjoy gaming. Does such a monitor exist?

What I am looking for is an integrated HDTV-capable tuner built in the LCD monitor, one that will fit on a computer desk, one that is great for gaming, and lots of video editing. Does such a monitor exist? Thanks.

Bought a Samsung 46inch DLP TV last year. I bought it because it had the best picture quality of all the sets on display. Not only does this TV have a DVI port to hook up my DVD player, to my surprize, it also has a standard 15 pin VGA port to hook up directly to a PC.

I have a computer connected to the TV right now. The display is perfect. It's just a really big computer monitor. We play games on it, surf, watch DVD's on it playing on the computer.

But I have to say, the ultimate is the Fireplace screen saver. I like to run the screen saver and just let it go. Call people over and let them gasp in awe at it.

Wireless KYB and mouse is a must for this set up though.
Playing poker on the internet is now a social activity. It's a blast when a bunch of buddies come over and crack open few beers and we play online poker on this beautiful, huge display.

PC on TV is the future boys.

The IBM T221 actually outdoes that in some sense (3840x2400 on a 22" screen, so pixel density is higher) and costs much less, around $8500. I have no idea what the image quality is like though.

Before you pull the trigger on any LCD Monitors... If you're planning on watching HD-DVD/Blu-ray on your expensive monitor, You might want to research the HDCP issue. None of the current 24 inch LCD's support it in their DVI inputs. so without an illegal "fix" you'll only be watching DVD's and regualr HDTV on these current models.

How long before HD-DVD/Blu-ray takes over and those types of monitors become "obsolete" for lack of a better term?
