I've head that Wavefront and TLC is the best Lasik Institutes around the country, and that they use the latest Lasik technologies.

Wavefront isn't an Eye Surgery Institute, it's a LASIK technology. Wavefront LASIK, also known as Custom LASIK.

So, any particular institute could carry Wavefront lasik technology?

Yes, it's the state-of-the-art LASIK technology. Any good laser surgeon should be performing wavefront now, although they still offer classic LASIK, and PRK as well. Wavefront is quite a bit more expensive than classic LASIK though. I just had wavefront LASIK done two and half weeks ago.

whats the name of the place that you had your surgery done? The thing i dont get is why these places offer different types of lasers, and ranging from different prices. That's like saying, here, this laser will cost less than others, but it will not correct your vision as good as other lasers that we has to offer, if you want to optimze your eye sight choose the higer price laser. I think the queston comes to why are the older techology laser still being used but for lower price. This is your eye overall, it's not like a car with optional wheels you could buy, good or bad, even if you're low on budget and choose the lower end wheel, and few months later it's broke you still could replace it, but not your eye.

Most places will advertise that that have the latest and are one of the most recognized in the country.

I can go to 50 cities around the country and see/hear ads all stating the same thing.

From $299 per eye.

We are "one" of the best in the country.
"World reknown"

etc.

Think hard about doing it before going in to whoever you pick to do it. A friend of mine has had problems with one of his eyes since having it done several years ago, and only recently was able to start driving at night again. His right eye was perfect, no problems, but the left, his "master" eye had all kinds of streaking at night and oncoming headlights were very unpleasant to look at. He would close his left eye, but you lose all your depth perception and not being able to use the master eye is annoying as hell.

The doctor did nothing wrong, it just happened. It took several corrective procedures and a lot of hassles and pain to get his eye decent enough for night driving again.

Think hard about it first, since there isn't any real way of "going back".

Be very careful before deciding to do this. It is difficult to find a reputable doctor who will perform this. Some clinics will perform this on whomever walks in the door!, there are a specific set of conditions you have to have to benefit from this procedure. If you can find a doctor who actually turns people away because they are not good candidates, I would choose to be screened by him, he might at least be honest and thinking of your health. Or you should be screened by a doctor who does not perform the procedure himself, but may recommend another if you need it. I would not go to the clinics that are basically revolving doors or assembly lines, there is a lot of unnecessary LASIK procedures going on in the country with many people resulting in WORSE eyesight than before. In most cases you have to have VERY bad eyesight for this to be recommended.

Be very careful. Read as much information on the procedure as you can find. Try to find information from sites that are not affiliated with a for profit clinic or business.
