He'd typically get home 8PM maybe on weekdays. Weekdays, and probably Saturdays too, he'd get up about 6AM, get dressed, go downstairs and right to the car. I'd hear that happening from my bedroom.

My dad bought a Chevy on the GI Bill right after WW II and drove us across the country from Manhattan to L.A. After that every car he bought was an Oldsmobile (1950, 1954, 1958, maybe one or two others). At some point he stop buying Olds's.

Parents never divorced, so I scored nothing. The same is true of their passing, I gave my interest in the estate to my brother.

My wife's parents divorced, but I don't think that we got anything of value out of that.

They did offer us a treadmill from our old house, but we didn't have room for it. Bummer.

Guess I'm the only one with a crazy mom, probably belonged in the nut house like her mom. My parents never divorced though, even though me and my sister both asked our dad why do you put up with her wouldn't divorce be easier?

They're almost to retirement now and empty nesters they seem alright. Then again my moms always been one to put on a show for company then go batshit over whatever little minuscule thing that happened and cry in her room for days later. So unless she found some meds or something she probably just fakes it for me now too.

An awesome step-dad. My bio-dad is a great father and raised me well, but when my mother got remarried she picked a wonderful man who was like a second father and who taught me much as well. I guess I got lucky.

Now, if I had just listened more...
