There is No best, there is the most adequate to your needs, and we do not what they are (the needs)?

I doubt that a move from NIS 2004 to 2005 will do any thing for you.

Of the 'suites' available, my vote goes to Trend Micro IS2005. Excellent PC-cillin AV with an adequate firewall.

None of the available 'suites' can match a cherry-picked combination of top-rated firewall and AV (Outpost Pro, NOD32, KAV, etc.).

I run IS2005, but also run resident real-time Anti-Trojan and Anti-Spyware (Trojan Hunter Guard and Spy Sweeper). Any malware the firewall may miss is likely to be picked by the other real-time agents. I've been clean for months.

I would definitely dump norton, I like the Trend Micro PC-Cillin or NOD32, as far as firewall I use Zone Alarm. I have tried virtually all the anti virus programs, and those work the best.

Right on! I would use the best individual progs in each needed category. I find that the best protection from viruses, trojans, and spam comes from having your ISP use Postini.com's interface. That stops all the crap at the server - so what you have at home is a second line of defense that really never gets used except for antispyware. And none of the frontline suites really are very good at that compared to SpySweeper, SB Serach and Destroy, or Microsoft's freebie.
