what is the best heatsink right now

im looking to push my new 1700 tb.b to around 2.3 or so.

plz help me choose. i currently have a
swiftech 370 i think.

The slk-900 is the best. An slk-800 will do the job nicely too.

The fan depends on your case cooling. The Enermax adjustable fan is a good place to start because you can dial in the level of air flow vs. noise that you want and its a quiet fan. The Thermaltake SmartFan2 can put out a ton of air and is also adjustable. It's a bit louder though. I use a panaflo L1A, but my cpu has a duct pulling in cool air from outside the case so I don't need a lot of cfm.

im running a specialized 120mm fan atm 145cfm and only 25dbs. i cant find another either.. dam things looks like a jet engine. i have a pali 1800 atm and it runs 35c full load. so i know my 1700 will run sweet with 1.5v default.

SK7 and AX7 are pretty good and a bit cheaper than SLK-800/900.

It's performance is equivalent to that of SLK-800.

Reviews have shown that very little is gained by going from SLK-800 to SLK-900.

Law of diminishing return is in effect.
