What is the best Headset/Microphone?

Do they make just a microphone that you can clip on to your headphones? That way you could use any headphones you want and add the microphone...

Or maybe you could use something like a lapel mic in conjunction with nice headphones? Just another idea...

Yes, its called a headset 🙂 why buy 2 different brand items? and stick them together? pointless...

Thank you for the great suggestion.

What is the length of the cable?
I want a headset that gives me freedom to lean back on my chair and still have enough cord to be comfortable.

Then you should get a wireless headset.

"Then you should get a wireless headset."
What wireless headset you would suggest.

"I suggest you get great headphones and buy a seperate microphone. You'll get better performance. "
I'll try that aswell

Do you want a top of the range headset? with superb sound quality and input quality? then get these . If you want a cordless headset which is not as good quality as the digtially enhanced ones but has no wire...then get this . Also there are cheaper wire, and wireless sets on the same website. Some wireless sets require you to connect them to a battery pack then put the battery pack in your pocket, or belt e.t.c.. some very expensive sets have a tiny batter located in the headpiece, they cost bucket loads.

The wireless sure cost. I'm going to try out a nice Sony separate mic with my Sennheiser headphone to see how that works then I'll try the Plantronics as your suggestion if the Sony/Sennheiser doesn't pan out.

If i were you, id go for the cheaper wired headsets...the wires long enough for getting of the chair and stretching e.t.c
Since your not doing and high frequency voice translation from you to a word document...theres no point in spending lots of greens, might aswell go for the $50 and below range.

Uhmmm...

Well the reason would be, obviously, to get your favorite and the best (sound to your ear as well as fit and comfort) set of headphones while still maintaining the functionality of having both a mic and headphones.

Get the idea? 🙂

How do you know what sounds the best unless youve tried various headsets? No understandy?

That's a great idea! You can then use your every day headphones at the PC. You'd look pretty dorky getting on the train wearing your Plantronics cans. That's only if your CD player suddenly takes a USB connector.

😀

I've been using a neck holder to hold my microphone. It's an old cheap Laptec headphone/mic and I just keep it around my neck with the micrphone bent up to my mouth. I'd love to find a better device but no one seems to make a nice small near field microhone w/ a neck support option.

Let us know when you find a nice solution. I may follow your lead.

What I'm saying is that some people spend a lot of time and research and money on a "perfect" set of headphones for them. Then, they may get into online gaming or chatting and discover they would like to have a mic along with their really cool nifty and great-sounding headphones. Why not just get a mic that clips onto your existing set of headphones (since those are the headphones you really like) that way you get to keep your great headphones but still use the mic as you had originally wanted to. 🙂

... Because some people would much rather do that then buy a whole 'nother set and get used to it, and maybe they won't even like the sound in comparison to other options, etc, etc, etc...

What I'm saying is that if I needed something like this, I would buy nice headphones, and then look for a mic that hopefully clips onto a set of headphones, or if I couldn't find that, I would look for some kind of lapel-clipping mic.

😀
