Hah, I was going to post this same question.

It appears that many who are buying the PNY 64 meg are getting the 128 meg version. About to just flip the bill for it but I too was wondering what some of the video guru's have to say to your question before I do.

I don't know the answer, but I just ordered a MSI 128 mb version from newegg.com for $147 shipped. Probably could have got it cheaper if I waited a while longer, but then if you are willing to wait long enough, you could probably get one for $50. Of course you would not be able to use it while you wait for the next price drop, and the next one and the next one. I like the MSI card, it appears to have very good cooling for the GPU and ram, and also ships with a pretty good software bundle. I have not been disappointed with the quality of the MSI mainboards I have worked with over the years, so that was my choice. YMMV

I went with the ABIT Siluro 128MB 8X. Non-OTES, but Im gonna go with the THermaltake G4 (copper and mem HS kit). Less loud than the OTES, $119 for the card and $13 for the GPU cooler kit.

Will post how well it all works when I receive it.

I decided on the PNY GeForce 4 TI4200 64M 4X TV/DVI Retail . I'm actually hoping for the 128m. This was happening often according to hotdeals And from this quote on the newegg review.

I bought this card last week, installed without issues. Then during the video post on boot up it posted as a geforce 4ti 4600 8x 128 meg. Called pny and they verified that the new revision included 8x with 128 meg of (500mhz) fast memory. Said the new revision actually surpasses performance of the pny geforce 4ti 4400 card due to the faster 128 meg of memory. Great buy. Buy it now and you'll most likely get the revised package in the old 64 meg box!

Either way I dont expect to upgrade my video card for a while

Thats what they all say right?

I got my pny ti 4200 64m 4x from newegg today and it was in fact the 128m 8x that many are claiming to get. so if anyone is considering a ti 4200 this is a good way to get more than you paid for.

Good luck

Very nice card, blew away the Radeon 8500LE 128MB card i had in here, even tho that is a nice card too, and even better price/performance LOL.:D

At this point, I'd say the cheapest is the best. They will be phased out in short order, replaced by newer cards and facing the Radeon lineup. At the very least, they will drop in price. If all goes as all has gone, they will be replaced at their current pricepoint with something much, much faster in about 6 months. So, spend as little as you can and get the most bang for the buck.
