Shenmue...The first game to ever have so much in it..from acting, playing games, interacting with all the characters on screen. This game truly reassembles any to date.

I found Shenmue to be quite a contender, and made other RPG's look up to one and another and say, we can be like that..

I have Shenmue, but I haven't touched it yet.

My favorites are:
Crazy Taxi 1/2
Test Drive: Le Mans
Samba De Amigo
Record of Lodoss War
Seaman
Rayman 2
Super Magnetic Neo
Jet Grind Radio
Space Channel Five

Crap.
I like so many DC games, I think it would make more sense just to list ones that suck.
Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer
EOF

I guess the one that consistently provides the most fun for everyone is Samba De Amigo. As of this summer, my parents specifically request me to bring my Samba kit to all family gatherings.

Soul Calibur is my current fave, but I've never played Shenmue

Dead or Alive 2 is nice too, b/c "she kicks high." :)

I would have to say "Spirit Of Speed" because I've only opened two games so far and I don't really care for who wants to beat up a millionaire.

I played about 30 minutes of Shenmue before I got bored. Running around clicking on everyone I see to initiate a conversation isn't exactly what I call great gameplay.

Double that on Virtua Tennis....the second one is good too, with the ability to add english to the ball. Unfortunately you can't have guy vs. girl (to my knowledge atleast). Its funny how a game that uses only 2 butttons and the D-pad could be so much fun!

Not that strange when you think for how long we had Nintendo and Genesis with only D-pad and 2 or 3 buttons, and for so long even before that just ONE button and an analog stick...A lot of times I feel that on modern consoles game designers have so many buttons and they try to take advantage of all of them that it overcomplicates the game.

Other good-quality DC games also have simple control structures--Bust-A-Move, Rayman, JGR, Space Channel 5...

Voted for Virtua Tennis. The AI is a real bi-otch, but I liked the simplicity of the controls (reminiscent of the NES tennis games). The graphics and the player movements are amazing, the music sucks, but turning the volume down fixed that.

once you get past the button mashing you'll find that there's a very intricate combo system in the game. The blocking is also done well since you can't hit someone immediately after you block a hit...some hits also knock you back when they are blocked. Once you get all the special moves and combos down, every battle is like a dance...your moves will flow together and you won't leave yourself vulnerable very often. Battles become very strategic and you have to wait for a good opening to unload on your opponent. The main producer of the game is a black belt in kenpo and he designed the game to be somewhat realistic.

Can't wait for Soul Calibur 2 on Xbox :)

I have 50+ games, and I must say that Rayman 2 and Jet Grind Radio are the best.

While there are many games out there with great concepts, the above two are so well crafted that you just fall in love with them. The gameplay is superb, the innovation is great, the graphics are simply awesome. I don't think any other games out there are so well rounded.

Other solid, really good games out there are:

HeadHunter
Crazy Taxi (either 1 or 2, take your pick)
Sonic Adventure 1
Sonic Adventure 2
Soul Calibur
Wetrix
Chu Chu Rocket
Bomberman

<< Wetrix >>

Wetrix? Really? If it wasn't for the fact that it's a little bit fun, I'd almost list that one right next to Episode 1 Racer...it's got lame graphics, horrendous play control, and text and vibrations constantly obstruct your view of the game...

Ah well.

I could never really get into Shenmue, all that running around and asking questions got boring fast. Ive spent the most hours playing Jet Grind Radio and Soul Calibur both these games are sweet.

Does anyone here like Bangai-O???

How can you say it...I've spent hours of bored time on my computer playing RACER! Used to have a Dreamcast but never used it. :)
