Like a stack of a billion $1 bills will reach the moon or something. <----NOT TRUE

I watched something last night that claimed all the damage from Hurricane Andrew was estimated at 30 Billion dollars. That was a bunch of torn up stuff.

Now think about your government taking in hundreds of billions, and relate that the mere 30 Billion that it took to repair ALL of the hurricane damage.

What I am looking for is more examples of how to relate huge sums of money to something I can actually picture.

In the new Fortune magazine (Page 70) there's an article on how much a ton (2000 lbs) of money is worth.

According to Fortune,
$1 bills - $908,000
Quarters - $40,000
Pennies - $3,632

so assuming $1 bills weigh the same as other bills:
$100 bills - 90,800,000

hehe.. thought that was neat

Also, you could take a look at Fortune magazine and see the Fortune 500 (500 largest companies in terms of revenue) and see what they're worth.

Largest - Exxon Mobil - $210,392,000,000 in revenue (149,000,000,000 in assets)
500th - Qualcomm - $3,196,800,000 in revenue ($6,063,000,000 in assets)
