What is the best damn monitor out there!!!

Well I have come to the cross roads, my monitor is just not enough, its a 19 inch that I finally gave to my girlfriend, she was using a 15", but still managed to kick my butt at FIFA 2002.

Anyway I want to get another 19 in or if affordable a 21" The monitor I gave to my girl is the Syncmaster flatscreen 955DF and I think it was the best one out there for the good price of $320 i think.
So my question is what monitors are out there for gaming under 400 bucks with under 25 dot?

Definitely not my Viewsonic PF790, I've had it for 6 months and the top right corner is purple! But anyways, I always heard that the sony g400's were good.

In my opinion I think you gave your girlfriend one of the best 19" monitors out there. I did a lot of homework before I bought my own (yes, this makes me biased) and it has a great picture and a decent price.

i have a PF790 no purple and its GREAT PICTURE. i bought it from best buy so if i had a problem i would of tooken it back

i would recommend this but i guess most people dont care for it???/

Samsung 900NF, much better than the 955DF and Sony G400. It rocks. I really miss it now that I am at work...hmmm...900NF.....hmmm. I should call home to make sure it is okay.

If your monitor is purple you have a speaker too close to it (magnetic field). See if your monitor has a de-gauss option. If so, use that. If not you can probably find a de-gausser at Radio Shack ($10-$15??).

ALWAYS go to bestbuy, frys, circuit city etc and look at monitors. some people might say one monitor is better but others dont like it. its your preference....

i usually like buying monitors locally as well because some times the monitor will have a small problem and take it back for same one (my bro did this with his monitor. first monitor he had was blury in the corners he took it back got another one and it wasnt blury in the corners (tho it was the exact same monitor some times a monitor is defective) and paying money ot ship the monitor back if its broke or defective can add up and some tiems making it pointless u order online if u have to send it back.

Yeah but the prices here in DC and Virginia are to much, and the best buys here are really bad with no good deals.

No, I bought mine online, Gateway Accesories store I think. Got it a while ago, not one problem, easy controls, quiet, nice and flat, doesn't take up my whole desk, etc.....

I got mine for just below $300 after a Samsung MIR. You'll have to seach around or wait a little until you can get that type of deal again.

do u have a gateway country store near u? if so thats good order from gateway i believe if the monitor u get is bad u can just take it back to there. You can also ask them to order the monitor for u and they will.... so u can look at it before u buy

I kinda like the sound of Ramius monitor, looks pretty good. Does it come in assorted colors preferably purple or lila. I like lila!
